Short biography
Michal Šyc is a leading researcher in the field of waste management and environmental engineering. He has been employed at the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ICPF CAS), where he has served as Head of the Department since 2016, and as Director of the Institute since 2022.
His research focuses on waste-to-energy processes, urban mining, and the recycling of municipal and industrial wastes, including studies on environmental impacts and criteria for waste utilization. Throughout his career, Dr. Šyc has actively coordinated and participated in numerous national and international research projects, contributing significantly to the advancement of sustainable waste management technologies.
