
Short biography
Professor Silvia Gross obtained master’s degree in chemistry in 1996 from the University of Padova and a PhD in “Chemical Sciences” from the same university in 2001. In the same year, she joined the Technische Universität Wien as Lise Meitner Post-doc. In 2002 she was appointed as Researcher at the Italian National Council (CNR) and eventually as Senior Reseacher in 2010. In 2017 she got a position as Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Padova. Since 2012 she is regularly visiting professor at Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen (2 months every year) and since 2025 she is Liebig-Professor at this university. She has a second affiliation as a DFG Mercator Fellow at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie within the DFG-funded SFB “Track-Act” project (2021-2028). Since 2021 she coordinates the international Master degree “Sustainable Chemistry and Technologies for Circular Economy”, gathering together 12 Departments of the University of Padova.
