Short biography

Professor Kriipsalu graduated from Estonian University of Life Sciences as Dipl. Eng. on Land Reclamation (1992), and received MSc on Environmental Technology, Waste management (1997). He did PhD research in University of Kalmar, Sweden, and received PhD from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden (2006). Throughout his career, Professor Kriipsalu he has been teaching and researching various issues of water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management, and remediation of soils. He has participated in various programs of continuous education in several universities in Estonia. He is experienced in working with local authorities, waste water treatment plants, solid waste companies and consulting companies. He is a member of a Recycling Cluster in Estonia, belongs to steering committee of European Enhanced Landfill Mining Consortium, and for a decade he was a board member and vice-chairman of European Compost Network.
