Short biography
Dr. Oskar Johansson is an Associate Senior Lecturer in Law at Luleå University of Technology, Faculty of Law. His research explores how environmental law can contribute to sustainable resource use, particularly within the transition toward a circular economy. A central focus of his work is the legal definition and governance of waste and secondary resources, and how this affects the balance between environmental protection and resource efficiency. He has investigated legal challenges related to landfill mining, sewage sludge management, and other areas where waste may be seen both as a problem and as a potential resource.
