Short biography
Fabio Tatàno is an engineer graduated from the University of Palermo (Sicily IT). He received his PhD in Sanitary-Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Milan (IT). During his PhD, he had a long research stay at Ruhrverband (Essen DE), the prestigious German Association responsible for integrated water, wastewater and sludge management in the Ruhr River basin since 1913. He is Associate Professor in Sanitary-Environmental Engineering at the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” (Central IT), with current teaching courses on “Remediation of Contaminated Soil and Groundwater”, “Resource Recovery from Waste” and “Resources and Energy for the Circular Economy”. At the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo”, he is also a Member of the University Committee for Third Mission and Social Impact. From May 2012 to May 2024, he has been the Chairman of the European Technical and Scientific Committee (ETSC) at the European Water Association (EWA), in which he is currently representing the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” as an EWA Research Member.
